Elkins and Tyler Play Host to the Road Warrior Challenge
AMRA to host two big open wheel events

By Scott Wolfe
MT. ALTO, WV-The AMRA (American Motor Racing Association) anticipates a hugely successful weekend with another Road Warrior Challenge for Open Wheel Modifieds July 16 and July 17 respectively at Elkins Motor Speedway  (Elkins, WV) and Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, WV). Previous Road Warrior Challenge races at these venues have proven to produce very exiting side-by-side open wheel racing. Many of the biggest names in open wheel racing will continue their charge to the points' championship.
Elkins Speedway is located off  I-79, Exit 99 (Weston/Buckhannon Exit). Fans should take Rt. 33 East.  This is Corridor H.  Proceed 35 mi on Corridor H to end.  Turn right at light on Rt 219.  Track is 1/2 mile on left. For more information please contact   <<<   http://www.elkinsmotorspeedway.com/   >>>  Gates will open at 5 with hot laps at 7:30. Regular racing in other divisions will also be on hand including AMRA Late Models.
Tyler County Speedway is a high banked 1/4 mile track located at the Tyler County Fairgrounds on State Route 18, five miles past Middlebourne, WV. Tyler County races AMRA Super Late Models and AMRA Modifieds on a regular basis. For more information please visit <<<  www.tylercountyspeedwaywv.net >>>
At Tyler County track management has initiated a hefty $1200-to-win payoff followed by a cash-filled payout for position: $750, $650, $550, $450, $400, $300, $200, and $150 thru 18th. The "Bullring" has been very well prepared this year with a smooth surface and plenty of good bite.
This great pay-out combined with the tour race at Elkins should pull in the heavyweights of open wheel modified racing.  The Road Warrior payout compliments a weekly AMRA Modified Purse of $650 to win at the Bullring and $150 to start every Saturday Night. The total Purse Payout is $3750.
Fans can also see AMRA Late Models competing for $5000 to win on Saturday July 24th when the "Bullring" runs the Eaton Childers Memorial . The annual event is held in remembrance of Beecher Eaton ,the father of Greg, Mike, Doug, and Brian Eaton. The family has been an integral part of dirt racing in the Mid Ohio Valley for many years dating back to the days Beecher Eaton dawned a helmet in the supermodified class at area tracks.
The race also honors Bill Childers, a native of St Marys, WV. Tyler County was his home race track where he raced Street Stocks and Late Models and won many features in both divisions. Bill was very well liked and a fan favorite every Saturday Night when he competed at Tyler County Speedway and other racing venues.
